Will tilt mount brackets work with renogy eclipse 100 w solar panels without cutting? thanks!

Answer:

I am not sure about that. I don’t know the dimensions of your Renogy Eclipse 100. There are numerous “holes” as you can see in the picture. I would say try it, and if it doesn’t fit you can always return it. These are light weight aluminum brackets, so not your sturdy as steel kind, but once attached to a wooden flat surface, they are set. I love the way you can adjust the angle of tilt to compensate for the changing seasons.

Can they be tilted while driving?

Answer:

They can if you use the tilt fixture, but I do not recommend this and would never do it myself. Using the tilt members of the fixture and tilting the solar panel up while driving will increase the wind drag significantly. There is no diagonal member in that frame so there is no component of the mechanical system to keep the frame from twisting back in the wind except the frame of the solar panel itself….and ….YOU DO NOT WANT TO PUT TORSIONAL STRESS on that solar frame. It could well crack or damage the solar wafers themselves – or the interconnect system.
