The Middle East and Africa span some of the toughest solar environments on earth — Gulf coastal salt and humidity, desert heat and dust, and fast-growing commercial and industrial markets from Morocco to South Africa. Solaracks supplies mounting systems engineered for these extremes, with an Arabic site and a complete documentation pack for project review.
Desert heat, UV and dust
Long aluminium rail runs see large day-night temperature swings; splice design allows for thermal movement, and UV-resistant EPDM pads isolate panels and dissimilar metals at contact points. Structural profiles are AL6005-T5 aluminium with A2-70 stainless hardware — materials that need no coating maintenance over the system’s life.
Gulf and Red Sea coastal corrosion
Coastal industrial zones reach corrosivity category C5, and splash zones CX. Coated roof screws passed 1,000 hours of neutral salt spray with no red rust, and SS316/A4 fasteners are available where chloride exposure demands them — though 316 stainless is not always the right answer in marine air. The Corrosion Protection Guide (PDF) documents how we specify anodizing class, zinc thickness and fastener grade per environment — and our 2 MW project at a shipbuilding factory shows the approach on a heavy-corrosion industrial site.
Systems for the region
- Ballasted flat-roof systems — for the concrete roofs that dominate the region’s commercial stock, without membrane penetration (how ballast is sized).
- Ground mounting — GTS structures for utility-scale and off-grid projects (ground screw vs. concrete foundation), including solar pumping for agriculture.
- Carports — shade structures that generate power, a natural fit for the region’s parking infrastructure.
- Metal roof systems — clamps and hooks for warehouse and logistics roofs.
Documentation your project review needs
Project calculations to ASCE 7-22 or AS/NZS 1170.2, with span tables, are prepared per project — see how design wind speeds differ between codes and regions.
Working with us from MEA
Arabic site at solaracks.com/ar, full export documentation, and consolidated shipping from Xiamen port. High-volume partners can join the distributor program; EPCs get engineering support; and we manufacture OEM/ODM for regional brands.
