Updated 2026 — AL6005-T5 is the extrusion alloy used for Solaracks rails and clamps: close to 6061-T6 in strength while extruding and anodizing more cleanly, which is why it is the reference alloy for structural solar profiles. Its key mechanical properties and the matching material certification are below.
In previous post Aluminum alloys https://www.solaracks.com/aluminum-alloys/ we have mentioned most common aluminum in solar mounting material is 6005. 6005-T5 aluminum is 6005 aluminum in the T5 temper. To achieve this temper, the metal is artificially aged until it meets standard mechanical property requirements. It has the lowest ductility compared to the other variants of 6005 aluminum.
The graph bars on the material properties
cards below compare 6005-T5 aluminum to: 6000-series alloys (top), all aluminum
alloys (middle), and the entire database (bottom). A full bar means this is the
highest value in the relevant set. A half-full bar means it’s 50% of the
highest, and so on.
