Why non-penetrating matters on seam roofs
Standing seam profiles are engineered to shed water along continuous seams; drilling them creates permanent leak paths and usually voids the roof warranty. Clamp-based mounting transfers all loads through friction on the seam, which makes clamp selection and spacing an engineering decision — pull-out and slip capacity have to be matched to the site’s wind loading.
